What to do about my Computer Vision Syndrome?
Well, firstly don’t worry, be happy! Worrying will only make it worse. Here are a few things that can help you deal effectively with computer eye strain:
- You are not blinking! - Yes, blinking is the best way to get relief from Computer Vision Syndrome. I know you find this hub interesting, but don’t get so lost that you forget to blink! So, blink as much as possible.
- So, how’s the ergonomics? - Well, ergonomics can sure not solve a visual problem, but it can definitely help in controlling some of the physical symptoms associated with computer eye strain. So, here is what you should do. Provide adequate support for your back. It should be straight, relaxed, and comfortable. Your feet should be firmly placed on the ground. The computer screen should be slightly lower than your eyes. There should be no glare on the screen. The room should never be too bright or too dark.
- Are you taking frequent breaks? - Breaks are not just important for preventing CVS. They are also very important for the rest of your body. So, look away from the computer screen for 10 seconds every 2 minutes. Every 30 minutes, give your eyes a 2 minutes break by rubbing your palms vigorously against each other and placing them on your eyes for about 30 seconds.
